A one-day 3rd Inter-Departmental Sports Meet was organized under the aegis of the Subdivision District Planning & Development Board (SDDPDB) at Pughoboto in Zunheboto District on November 29, 2024. The event was conducted at the Public Ground, Pughoboto, bringing together various government departments in a grand celebration of sports and games. Kicking off the sports event during the inaugural program, ADC Pughoboto, Tiameren Chang, NCS, spoke on the importance of sports for good health and a sharp mind. He also mentioned that the event provided a great opportunity for government employees to interact, which would foster better work culture and coordination both within and among the various departments.
Emerging as the winner of the Men’s Carrom and the runner-up of the Women’s Penalty Shootout, the Agriculture Department claimed the Overall Championship of the 3rd Inter-Departmental Sports Meet for the Pughoboto subdivision. The Rural Development (RD) Department won the Men’s Penalty Shootout, while the Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) won the Women’s Penalty Shootout. A total of 140 participants from 17 government departments participated in the sports event, which included Carrom and Penalty Shootouts for men, and a Penalty Shootout for women.
During the inaugural program in the morning, the Functional Manager, Industry, Hekato K. Jimo, presented a special song, while the Pastor of Police Baptist Fellowship Pughoboto, Mughato Zhimo, blessed the event with a benediction. The day’s event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, and attendance from the respective departments was duly recorded.
