A beautiful hill at New Resithsi Village is slowly becoming a tourist destination, thanks to a community initiative. The idea was first started by the Youth Ministry of the village. They took the lead by building a resting place and setting up a waste bin on the hill. Later, the Village Council and the Students’ Union joined in and added more facilities to improve the site.

Today, the Students’ Union is collecting a small entry fee of Rs. 30 per visitor. According to Shri Tsiseto, the Chairman of the Village Council, the Union earned around Rs. 18,000 during the recent four-day Amahator Range Students’ Union Session. He also shared that the number of visitors is increasing day by day, which makes them very happy.

Shri Setsiba, the Head GB of the village, shared some historical importance of the hill. He said that in ancient times, the hill was used for village defence. The warriors would gather boulders and roll them down early in the morning to alert or stop enemies from climbing the hill. He proudly said that the hill is a symbol of victory for the village.

The hill has three different hilltops, and each one is more difficult to climb than the previous. Its steep paths make the climb exciting and adventurous. It takes around two or more hours to complete the climb.

From my personal experience, I believe it is a must-visit place. I encourage visitors coming to Kiphire not to miss this amazing spot, and I urge the citizens of Kiphire to experience it too. It is truly a place where unforgettable memories are made.
