Rev Temsü Jamir, Executive Secretary of ABAM, praised the “efforts of ALIMCO and MDDF in addressing the challenges faced by Divyangjan and senior citizens,” highlighting their “commitment to providing support.”

This collaborative initiative “aims to assist persons with disabilities and senior citizens by supplying durable, advanced, scientifically manufactured, and modern aids and appliances.” The program’s goal is to “promote the physical, social, and psychological rehabilitation of individuals with disabilities, mitigate the impacts of disabilities, and enhance their economic potential.”

A total of 1,103 appliances, valued at approximately Rs 28 lakhs, were distributed among 352 beneficiaries. These included “hearing aids, crutches, wheelchairs, knee braces, sacral belts, walking sticks, chairs with commodes, and walkers.”

The distribution follows an assessment camp organized by ABAM Social Concern in collaboration with ALIMCO and MDDF on February 18 and 19, 2025. During the camp, “352 beneficiaries were identified, and ALIMCO promptly initiated the distribution process.”

Rev Jamir noted that “this camp marks a significant milestone in the history of ABAM,” expressing “heartfelt gratitude to ALIMCO for their generous support to the people of Mokokchung District.”

He also thanked “Dr Imli Ozüküm, the Chief Medical Officer of Tuensang, for their selfless contributions,” along with the Chief Medical Officer of Mokokchung and the Medical Superintendent of IMDH for providing staff who contributed to the camp’s success.

Additionally, ABAM expressed appreciation for “all the churches for their generous service to those in need,” and prayed for “the long life of people with disabilities and senior citizens.”
