Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener, Executive Secretary, ABAM, in the keynote address, said every individual created in the image of God is unique and created wonderfully. “God has different plans for every individual that validate his wonderful disclosure. It is in loving each other that we make the full manifestation of God’s wonderful plans for every individual. Therefore, as an inclination to John 13:34 and to fully fulfill the wonderful plan of God, with no disparity, we need to love and care for each other and show equal recognition,” he said.

With that understanding and in commemoration of the Sesquicentennial celebration, ABAM organized this program under the supervision of ABAM Social Concern which also marks the first-ever such program in ABAM history, he added.

Meanwhile, a special session was held for the full-time workers, the Social Concern Committee of the local Churches, and parents of persons with disability was taken on the topic, “Addressing the issues of disability” with Maong Jamir, Aoyimküm as the resource person.

The program concluded with a talent presentation from 20 differently-abled persons, which was the highlight of the program as it reflected the gift of God to every individual.

“ABAM expresses appreciation to Ms. Arenlila Jamir, Coordinator CBR, Nüngshisenla Special Educator, Akümtemsü, Limainla, Tinokokla, and Arkodong for assisting in the activities and talent presentation,” it was noted.

Altogether, 264 persons comprised of 119 differently-abled persons, 144 full-time workers, and parents attended the program.

“May God’s blessing and help be upon all the churches as they undertake this ministry and provide holistic care,” Rev. Dr.Mar Pongener, Executive Secretary, ABAM said in the press note.
