Aizawl FC defeated Nagaland United Sports Club (NUSC) 2-0 in the Football for Peace Exhibition Match held at Chümoukedima Football Stadium on Saturday.

Organised under the theme “Peace Pays”, the match brought together football enthusiasts, dignitaries, sports stakeholders and supporters from across the region to promote unity, friendship and community engagement through sport.

Aizawl FC secured the victory through goals from Zomuana and Fela. Zomuana opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time (45+3), giving the visitors a crucial lead before the break. Fela sealed the win with a goal in the 83rd minute.

A highlight of the evening was a tribute to late N. William Koso, former assistant coach of Aizawl FC and one of Nagaland’s most respected football coaches and educators. Members of the Koso family were invited onto the field and presented footballs to both teams in recognition of his contributions to football development in Nagaland and the Northeast.
