Amrita Hospital has entered into a partnership with the Nagaland Government to deliver specialised healthcare services to the state. Through this collaboration, Amrita Hospital will establish monthly outpatient clinics (OPDs) at Naga Hospital Kohima, a teaching hospital for NIMSR Kohima, and District Hospital Dimapur. These clinics will provide advanced clinical services in cardiology, nephrology, oncology, and hepatology, expanding healthcare access for people across Nagaland.

Under the arrangement, Amrita Hospital specialists will offer cardiology and nephrology consultations on the second Wednesday of each month at Naga Hospital Kohima and on the second Thursday at District Hospital Dimapur. Additionally, oncology and hepatology clinics will take place on the third Wednesday of every month in Kohima and on the third Thursday in Dimapur.

Dr Sanjeev Singh, Medical Director at Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, emphasised the partnership’s role in professional development for local medical practitioners. “The partnership will also focus on professional development for local medical practitioners. Amrita Hospital’s visiting specialists will conduct Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions tailored to the needs of Nagaland’s healthcare professionals, ensuring an ongoing exchange of expertise and knowledge,” he said.

The initiative includes Observership Programmes for local doctors from Nagaland, allowing them to gain hands-on experience and clinical insights at Amrita Hospital, subject to approval by the Nagaland Government.
“Through this collaboration, Amrita Hospital seeks to enhance healthcare access and support the professional growth of medical practitioners in Kohima and Dimapur, making high-quality specialised healthcare more accessible to the people of Nagaland,” said Swami Nijamritananda Puri, Administrative Director at Amrita Hospital, Faridabad.

The partnership represents a combined effort to improve healthcare access and professional development in Nagaland, facilitating greater access to specialised medical services in the region.
