The Angami Women Organisation (AWO) has expressed shock and outrage over the reported molestation of a three-year-old child by a member of the NSCN (Khango) in Saring Village, Mokokchung District. The incident occurred on August 10, 2024, involving a person identified as ‘Sergent’ Moakaba Aier.

“It is unimaginable that a Naga who claim to be working for the Naga national cause could perpetrate such heinous crime,” the AWO stated.

The AWO further demanded that the law enforcing agency award the most stern punishment to the culprit without delay.

Additionally, the Angami Women Organization expressed disgust over the silence of the Ceasefire Monitoring Cell and also for turning a blind eye to the NSCN (Khango) group. According to AWO, the group has time and again blatantly violated the Ceasefire rules.
“We urged the CFMC to proof its sincerity and purpose by taking action against the group in accordance to the provisions of the agreement signed for Ceasefire,” added the AWO.

Through the press release, the AWO conveyed its deepest sympathy to the child and her family and prayed that the Almighty shall grant them strength and comfort to overcome the terrible situation.
