Angami Youth Organisation and NSCN-K (Khango) reach agreement after meeting

The Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) and NSCN/GPRN-K (Khango) have reached a significant agreement following a meeting held on August 20, 2024, in Kohima. The meeting, which began at 2:00 pm, was facilitated by the Ceasefire Monitoring Board (CFMB) to address the ongoing issues between the two parties.

In a joint statement, the AYO and the NSCN-K (Khango) group announced that the NSCN- K (Khango) agreed to unconditionally withdraw the imposition of capital punishment on the proprietor of M/s KKB Rülho with immediate effect.

The NSCN-K (Khango) has also agreed to retract its directive instructing Angami contractors to cease activities and demobilize their manpower and machinery currently deployed across other districts of Nagaland, effective immediately.

Additionally, the NSCN-K (Khango) will disclose the identity of the individual known as “Max Naga” and will initiate appropriate disciplinary action against him within 15 days. In response, the AYO will withdraw its Non-Cooperation stance and “recalling back of Angami workers” from the NSCN-K (Khango).

In the meeting, the NSCN-K (Khango) also expressed regret over the occurrence of the recent unfortunate issue.

Further, the joint statement also read that the AYO also reiterated its stand on the Angami Public Organisation’s resolution of 1993 on “One Government, One Tax.”

The joint statement was appended by Kesosul Christopher Ltu and Neidilhoutuo Sechü, president and general secretary of AYO respectively on one hand, and Visheto Yeptho, Kilo Kilonser and A Imyapangba Ao, Supervisor, CFSB, NSCN/GPRN-K (Khango) on the other.
