The Ao Senden has written to the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung calling for the proper and immediate implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) concession recently announced by the Union Government.

In a letter submitted by Marsanen Imsong, President, and Imtipokyim, General Secretary, the Ao Senden stated that the GST concession, declared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, came into effect on September 22, 2025. They described the move as a “gift to the citizens of India” aimed at “ease  of  living  and  to  build  Aatmanirbhar Bharat.”

The letter urged the Deputy Commissioner’s office to ensure that the GST concession is effectively implemented across the district so that citizens can fully benefit from it.

“We also reserve the right to undertake necessary checking as whether this concession is implemented properly or not at any time,” the apex body wrote.
