Every person is born with a unique talent, and in today’s fiercely competitive world, everyone is scrambling to stay afloat. Today, Mokokchung Times has a story to share about Nungshilemla, an apparel designer from Mokokchung, Nagaland. She is a young fashion designer who started her own business in 2019. She hails from the village of Longsa, where both of her parents work as farmers to support the family. Alemla asserted that the need to assist her parents and siblings drove her to taking design classes, which prompted her to discover her passion.

Alemla, an apparel designer, believes that a novice designer with little academic background appears absolutely unseemly to start with the business in a society that prioritizes education, government employment, skilled labour, and other aspects. She, however, said that the world is full of possibilities, “and we are all created by God with a purpose.” She went on to mark that the Bible verse Philippians 4:13, which reads, “I can do all things through Christ,” incentivized her to ponder beyond the horizon of possibilities.

According to her, she is enthralled by the vibrant threads and needles and how the two might be combined to produce amazing works of art. She continued by expressing that she would now set aside time every day to focus on learning the design medium.

She designs women’s clothing that may be customized to the client’s demands and spans from casual to formal attire. She made a point of saying that she may alter orders to suit the different requests that she regularly hears from female clients. Additionally, she runs Instagram account @yalemtsurlemty where she often displays items of her custom-made apparel.

Meanwhile, Alemla also disclosed that the route was challenging for her because she had to support her parents and pursue her career at the same time. She did, nevertheless, add that she gave her work her absolute best effort and tenacity in every spare minute. Although she now does not own a private store, she currently resides in Mongsenbai ward, Mokokchung, and works from home. In the near future, she declared, “I will rent a store and expand my business ideas.”

Alemla’s hands are typically never far from her sewing machine; she said, “There were simply too many requests to complete on time.” Despite this, she consistently meets deadlines.
She also completed a year of vocational training in fashion designing and tailoring at TRGU Vocational Training Center in Dimapur to hone her skills. She then said that she has been working to expand her business ever since.

She ends by saying, “I appreciate what I do, and I don’t regret my choice.” “God has a purpose for every single one of us; we only need to find it,” Alem urged. “Don’t let society’s dominant opinion weigh you down or make you lose interest,” Alem compelled.
