Campaign on early detection of TB cases

Mokokchung, February 18 (MTNews): The National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP), Mokokchung, conducted an Awareness and Active Case Finding Drive for Mangkolemba,Tsurangkong &Tuli Blocks from 9th February to 16th February 2022, led by Dr. Tiasunup Pongener, State Tuberculosis Officer, DHFW Kohima, and Dr. Tiameren Imchen, District Tuberculosis Officer (DTO), Mokokchung. This Drive was introduced to focus on early detection and prevention of Tuberculosis (TB) cases. A press release from the DTO, Mokokchung, informed that India aims to eliminate TB before 2025. The aim is to make India TB-free with zero deaths, diseases and poverty due to tuberculosis, and the goal is to achieve a rapid decline in burden of TB, morbidity and mortality while working towards elimination of TB.
