In solidarity with the 11-point charter of demands issued by the All-India State Government Employees Federation (AISGEF), the Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employee’s Association (CANSSEA) will be observing a Statewide Sit-In Dharna on September 23, 2025.
According to a statement from CANSSEA, the CANSSEA Central will observe the dharna at the CANSSEA office complex in Kohima, while CANSSEA District units will observe the protest in their respective district headquarters.
The 11-point charter of demands put forward by AISGEF are as follows:
1. Repeal all the four Labour Codes.
2. Repeal the PFRDA Act. Scrap NPS/UPS. Direct the fund managers to return the amount deposited to the State Governments. Bring all subscribers under Employees’ Pension Scheme 1995 (EPS 95) to the Defined Benefit Pension System.
3. Regularise all the contractual employees. Stop contractual, outsourced and daily-waged employment. Fill up all the vacancies in the State Government departments and PSUs on a regular basis.
4. Stop privatization and corporatization of PSUs and downsizing of government departments.
5. Constitute the Eighth Central Pay Commission and ensure periodical pay revision once in five years.
6. Release the pending Dearness Allowance (DA) instalments and all the confiscated DA arrears.
7. Implement a comprehensive health insurance scheme with government support ensuring cashless treatment in all hospitals to pensioners and employees including contractual employees.
8. Abandon the National Education Policy (NEP).
9. Repeal Article 310, and Article 311 (2) (a), (b) & (c) of the Constitution.
10. Uphold the secularism enshrined in the Constitution and fight against all types of communalism.
11. Re-define Centre–State financial relations and safeguard co-operative federalism.
“In solidarity with AISGEF’s charter of demands to the Union Government, CANSSEA would like to also convey its full support from the state of Nagaland for the welfare of the government employees and its citizens in the country. We reiterate and put forward the above demands to the Government till they are fulfilled,” the statement from CANSSEA Press and Information Secretary Siewatho S Nyusou said.
