The Centre Chakhesang Public Organisation (CCPO) on November 25 adopted a series of major resolutions aimed at reshaping infrastructure, education, administration and security across the Centre Chakhesang area, signalling a renewed push for coordinated development.

Meeting at Sakraba Town, the house said the newly constructed two-lane Pfutsero–Phek road via Sakraba to Khomi should be placed under the continuous care of the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), arguing that the road needs a specialised agency for proper upkeep.

Members also agreed to push for upgrading the school at Sakraba Headquarters to a Higher Secondary School. They said the move would help reduce student migration and improve local access to higher education.

On administration, CCPO decided to urge the government to immediately renovate the EAC office at Sakraba and ensure that the posted EAC stays regularly at the station.

The house reaffirmed the Chakhesang Public Organisation’s long-standing resolution on annual tree plantation drives, asking villages to continue taking the lead in afforestation activities.

Villages under the Centre Chakhesang area—Khomi, Pholami, Sakraba, Gidemi and Porba—also expressed their wish to come under the Assam Rifles, Pfutsero, instead of BSF Satakha. They said the change would improve accessibility and coordination.

To improve basic healthcare support, village authorities were asked to work with the concerned department to ensure adequate first-aid medicines and emergency equipment for residents and travellers.

The house further resolved to propose a police outpost at Sakraba Headquarters through the Deputy Commissioner, Phek, during the next DPDB meeting. CCPO said the outpost is needed to prevent anti-social activities and to ensure safety for the public and officials.

The Resolution Committee for the session included Thupuvecho Vadeo (Convenor), Nucukho Tenenu (Member Secretary) and Mudozhoyi Lohe (Member).

Special guest Zhoi Lohe, Project Director of DRDA Phek, spoke on the need to prioritise education and encouraged households to adopt a “one project – one household” approach for better economic stability. He also urged the community to maintain the cordial relations that have kept the area united.

Earlier, CCPO President Shepo Dzudo delivered the presidential address, while Vice President Vesopa Nakro chaired the proceedings.

A new team of CCPO office bearers for 2025–2028 was later announced by Raruveyi Swuro, Convenor of the Search Committee, and installed by CCBF Chairman Kuduhuto Dazo. The new office bearers include President Pupohü Lohe, Vice President Vesopa Nakro and General Secretary Kulupoyi Vadeo. Others elected are Vezhosayi Lohe (Joint Secretary), Zhosayi Thuluo (Finance Secretary), Puchosu (Treasurer) and Vekhoyi Lohe (Press Secretary). Advisors for the tenure are Vethayi, Vocuyi and Shepo Dzudo.
