Mokokchung, 12 March (MTNews): A joint coordination meeting of various civil society organizations of Mokokchung district was held on 12 March 2024 at MMC Conference Hall in connection with pork rate.
After thorough deliberation, it was unanimously resolved that “The import of pigs to Mokokchung district from outside the district will be prohibited until the local pork price is settled.”
The joint meeting was attended by representatives of the All Ward Union Mokokchung Town (AWUMT), Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI), Mokokchung Town GBs Union, Mokokchung District GBs Association, All Ward Union Changtongya, Business Union Changtongya, All Ward Union Tuli, Business Association Tuli, Tzudikong Adhoc Town Committee, and All Ward Union Mangkolemba.
Further, the CSOs requested all the residents and consumers of pork in Mokokchung district “to bear with the inconvenience for the time being.”
Earlier, the house appointed the president of All Ward Union Mokokchung Town as the seasonal chairman and chairman of All Ward Union Changtongya as the seasonal secretary of the meeting respectively.
