Dimapur, 18 December (MTNews): Dimapur District Basketball Association (DDBA) has announced the upcoming selection trials for the District Senior Men and women Basketball teams, who will represent Dimapur district in the Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games 2024.
DDBA informed that the trials will take place at the JV Basketball Court in Dimapur on 20 December 2023, starting at 3:00 pm for the men’s selection and 4:00 pm for the women’s selection.
The selection panel comprises of Tiameren Amri (Convener), Yudang Ao, Senti Longkumer, Vitoto Chiso, and Vikaito Yepthomi.
The District Senior Men & Women Basketball Selection Trials aim to identify the most talented and skilled basketball players in Dimapur, who will then have the honor of representing their district in the prestigious Nagaland Olympic & Paralympic Games, the DDBA said, adding that this major sporting event is scheduled to be held from 12th to 17th February 2024.
“Dimapur District Basketball Association encourages all passionate and talented basketball players in the district to showcase their abilities during the trials. This is a significant opportunity to stand out and make a substantial impact on the sport. Selected players will have the chance to compete at a higher level, representing Dimapur in one of the most celebrated sporting events in Nagaland,” DDBA said.
Interested individuals have been requested to report to the JV Basketball Court in Dimapur, at least 30 minutes prior to their respective trial timings. Proper basketball attire is mandatory, it said.
