Ten fishery farmers from the Integrated Tribal Development Programme (ITDP) in Tuli, Mokokchung, have embarked on a three-day exposure visit and training program at the Aquaculture Field School in Kalong Kapili, Kamrup Metro, Assam.

This opportunity was made possible through the support of the NABARD regional office in Dimapur, and the program is being organized by the Community Educational Centre Society, Dimapur. The Director of the Aquaculture Field School has provided strong encouragement to the attending farmers, emphasizing the significance of learning about sustainable aquaculture and its practices.

Over the course of these three days, resource persons will delve into a comprehensive range of topics. This includes introductory sessions on aquaculture and sustainable aquaculture, pre-stocking considerations, site visits, soil suitability assessments, water source evaluations, pond construction techniques, renovations for existing drainable and undrainable ponds, and efficient pond management.

The primary objective of this training program is to bolster the Extension Service of Sustainable Aquaculture (SESSA) as a crucial step toward enhancing the aquaculture industry.
