Dimapur, 2 July (MTNews): While appreciating the Government of Nagaland under Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for sanctioning an amount of Rs 20 crore during 2022-23 fiscal year for “motorable Foothills road construction,” the Nagaland Foothill Road Co-ordination Committee (NFHRCC) has recommended the concerned authority to release the requisite pending bills to the construction firms wherever deemed fit. The NFHRCC, in a press release, said that the recommendation was performance based.

The NFHRCC also informed that, earlier on 9 & 10 June, a joint inspection of the Foothill Road construction at Dimapur/Niuland Division (M/S R.K.Construction) and Tizit Division (M/S H.H Co. Construction & Supplier) was conducted by a team led by NFHRCC Convenor Supu Jamir and Co-convenor Hokiye Yepthomi along with committee members and PWD (R&B) Divisional Officials.

On spot verification, it was found on ground that the construction works had been executed as per DPRs specification with 100% completed at both Dimapur/Niuland and Tizit Divisions, NFHRCC said.

However, on Dimapur Division at Tadi River towards Hovekhu Village and on Niuland and Wokha District boundary of Kimpur River, a medium bridge and a slap culvert respectively is a must to make the Foothills road connectivity complete, NFHRCC added. The NFHRCC appealed the competent authority of PWD (R&B) to consider constructing the bridge/culvert at these two rivulets to make the road pliable at the earliest.

Meanwhile, clarifying on a statement it issued which was published by newspaper on 2 July regarding Tuli Division executed by M/S W Chingkam Phom & Co, the NFHRCC informed that “contrary to the earlier technical report submitted to us with 75-89% works executed,” No Objection Certificate (NOC) remains pending as there are few public complaints, notably from the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP),21 Tuli Mandal Unit and Tuli Joint Council Forum. The complaints pertain to the actual executions of work from Anaki –C to Yajang-C via Tsudikong stretch which is to be re-verified as per the specifications of the DPR, NFHRCC informed.
