The incident was reported from Jaypur or Joypur village in the D Sector area near the disputed Chederpham or Seedfarm region, according to reports by India Today NE and The Assam Tribune.
A group of 11 youths from Nagaland allegedly entered the area on Sunday afternoon and attempted to hunt birds. When villagers objected, the situation escalated into violence. Four villagers reportedly sustained injuries and were given medical assistance.
The area remained tense through the day. Personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force and Merapani Police were deployed to prevent further escalation.
