The Zunheboto District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on February 10, 2025, at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall, Zunheboto, under the chairmanship of MLA & DPDB chairman, Er Picto Shohe.
The meeting began with the introduction of new board members, followed by a review of the minutes from the previous meeting.
Addressing the gathering, Picto Shohe urged all Heads of Departments (HoDs) to serve the district with sincerity and to be attentive during board meetings. He also called for vigilance in Atoizu’s development, highlighting that the subdivision remains without bus services despite being one of the earliest subdivisions in the state. He appealed to the concerned departments to improve road connectivity in the area, emphasizing the importance of Khelhoshe Polytechnic at Asukuto town.
The President of Zunheboto Range Students’ Union (ZRSU) raised concerns over the poor attendance of some officials in district offices, based on a recent survey. He urged all HoDs to be stationed at their respective postings for the welfare of the district. The lack of sincerity among some officials was a serious issue that needed to be addressed urgently, he added.
The board also deliberated on an agenda submitted by the chairman regarding the creation of an AHO/Horticulture office in Atoizu. While land for the office has already been donated, the establishment process remains pending. After discussions, the board decided to forward the application for the creation of an AHO office in Atoizu and the maintenance of roads from Asukuto to Akuluto via Khitsakita for further procedures.
Later, the Executive Engineer of the Power Department presented his department’s activities through a PowerPoint presentation. The Chief Veterinary Officer was assigned to present the department’s activities at the March DPDB meeting.
