Government Middle School (GMS), Pongentola, Aongza Ward, Mokokchung held its ‘Annual Literary cum Cultural Day’ on August 1, coinciding with the Tsüngremmung festival, at Aongza Ki. In line with the festival, students from different houses showcased our beautiful culture and traditions through skits and dances. All students and teachers, dressed in traditional attire, celebrated the day with great fervor and excitement.
The event also featured student participation and competition in various activities, including solo performances, Hindi poem recitation, prepared speeches, choreography, and quiz competitions. The occasion was made even more grand and special by the presence of members of the Aongza Ward Local Authority. In his brief speech, Mr Tongpangkokba Longchar, the Secretary of the ward, praised the school for organizing such an event and urged the students to focus not only on their studies but also on preserving our diverse culture and traditions. He highlighted the students’ potential for greatness and encouraged the teachers to support the all-round development of the students.
The program concluded with light refreshments for all students and teachers.
