The GPRN/NSCN has termed the alleged unprovoked firing at the residence of Kiviho Zhimomi on the evening of September 28, 2025, as “another mischievous scheme in recent times aimed to tarnish the image of Inno N. Kitovi Zhimomi in particular and WC, NNPGs in general.”
In a statement issued by the MIP, the group said that “Inno. Kiviho Zhimomi was recruit in the current organisation ten years ago by Inno. N. Kitovi Zhimomi as an informer of the GPRN/NSCN.
Until recently he was a key informer of the government and technically he still is.” It added that “most of his active cadres joined GPRN/NSCN lately, therefore till the 28th September 2025, the home comers led by Maj. Gen. Hinoto Yepthomi were an integral part of Kiviho’s group and thus the despicable accusation of them firing inside his unsecured house by GPRN/NSCN does not arise.”
According to the statement, “on 28th Sept. 2025 one of his (absconding) cadres was asked to be prepared to attend the recent FNR meeting at Zunheboto, however upon departure, he was denied the journey which infuriated his undisciplined cadres to indiscriminately fire within his complex with whatever weapon they had on the night of 28th September evening and escaped.”
Terming Kiviho’s allegation as “immature and pathetic,” the GPRN/NSCN “demand that he immediately withdraws his immature and pathetic statement without poking up further provocation to avoid negative reactions or sever consequences.” It further asserted, “for the record, Inno. Kiviho can be summoned or arrested anytime if needed without wasting any single bullet.”
The statement also alleged a wider attempt to malign WC, NNPG leaders. It said, “recently, the mastermind behind one habitual scammer was also employed to character assassinate a WC, NNPG leader Hokato Vusshe, Ato Kilonser, NSCN (Khango), fabricating him in fake money printing, inviting local media outlets to name and shame fellow national workers. That victim under police custody will reveal the scheme of the real coaches and instructors.”
Warning against the spread of disinformation, the group said, “when the counterfeit Naga national workers start doing the job of police forces, assisting the Indian security apparatus in creating fake news, the Naga political issue is at stake.”
The statement went on to highlight the leadership of Inno N. Kitovi Zhimomi, Convener WC, NNPGs. “His survival instinct, his understanding of history, correct political decisions at crucial times, his vast experience makes him a proven leader,” it said. “His duty is to take the Indo-Naga political conflict to an acceptable, honourable, enduring, inclusive logical conclusion. It will be suicidal to insulted him with underdeveloped paragraph. Those indulging in smear campaign are cautioned to immediately cease extreme anti-Naga tirade.”
The Chumoukedima District Village Councils’ Association (CDVCA) has strongly condemned the firing incident that occurred at 4th Mile Diphupar Village L. Khel on September 28, 2025, reportedly carried out by “some unknown Naga national workers group.”
In a statement issued by the Association, it said, “It is disheartening to know that when the Association is strongly raising its voice on review of the Ceasefire Ground Rules, these kinds of illegal activities by some self-centered individuals posing themselves as Naga National workers are destroying the very essence of Naga Nationalism and putting our own Naga people’s life at risk by firing recklessly at Naga populated areas.”
The CDVCA asserted that it “shall not tolerate this kind of attitude from our Naga National workers groups” and further cautioned that “if any groups in the near future are caught in such acts within its member villages’ jurisdiction, then the Association shall declare non-cooperation against the particular group or refrain from any kind of mutual support.”
The statement was signed by CDVCA convenor Razouvotuo Chatsu and general secretary Vika H Chishi.
