Mokokchung, 19 May (MTNews): The Nagaland state unit of the Janata Dal United has declared that the party will participate in the ensuing elections to the Urban Local Bodies slated to be held on 26 June 2024. The party said in a press communique it would enter the fray depending on the availability of capable candidates in the various ULBs.
While announcing the party’s intention to contest the ULB elections, the JDU also called upon the people and concerned authorities to create an atmosphere conducive for ensuring the conduct of free and fair elections so as to provide an equal playing field for one and all.
The JDU also called upon all candidates and political parties to facilitate an environment ushering “conscience voting” in the minds of the electorates rather than being swayed away by false promises and material gains.
