The first-ever Hyper-Realistic Pencil Sketch Workshop was conducted at 3:30 p.m. at Agape Higher Secondary School, Kiphire. The event was jointly organized by Thsadiba Sangtam, a well-known pencil sketch artist from Kiphire Town, and the Event Photography Club Kiphire.

Sixteen young artists participated in the workshop, including students from Class 8 to college level and a few school dropouts. Sangtam provided one-on-one guidance and live demonstrations to help the participants enhance their sketching techniques.

The workshop focused on key topics such as basic and advanced sketching, shading, blending, grid methods, measurement and comparison, and the creative use of locally available materials.

During the session, Sangtam reminded the participants that mastery in sketching requires consistency, hard work, and dedication. He encouraged them to develop practical skills, saying that in today’s world, “a degree alone is not enough; we need skills to survive.”

He also highlighted the importance of using proper materials and demonstrated how to create a DIY blending stick from a regular A4 sheet, along with other simple art tools.

The workshop had free registration, limited to 16 participants to ensure focused learning. It concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students sought advice on pursuing pencil art professionally.
