A major fire broke out at Sumao Kam in Noklak Village at around 4:06 PM on Saturday, reducing five houses to ashes and partially damaging two other houses and a morung (community hall), according to fire officials.
“Timely information and intervention by firefighters prevented the fire from spreading further,” fire officials said, adding that no casualties had been reported in the incident.
