The monthly meeting of the Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was held on August 27, 2026, at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of DPDB Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS. The proceedings began with a review of the minutes of the previous meeting, followed by discussion on the Action Taken Report.
The board approved the registration of two local societies, namely the Chuchuyimpang Students Union Society and the Woods Foundation, based in Kumlong Ward.
The board also approved the change of nomenclature of Hills Night High School to Hills High School. It further approved the shifting of the school from Arkong Ward to Nokra Compound in Chuchuyimpang.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Atsungba Walling briefed the board on the upcoming Inter-Departmental Sports Meet, scheduled from September 29 to October 1, 2026. He informed the board that a 24-member committee had been constituted to oversee and manage the event.
The meeting also featured a PowerPoint presentation by the District Project Officer (DPO), Land Resources Development (LRD), on various departmental activities and achievements. It was decided that the Horticulture Department will present its activities at the next monthly meeting.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the Deputy Commissioner.
