Revenant FC crowned champions
Mokokchung, July 15 (MTNews): The first season of the Mokokchung Friday League ended on July 15 at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, with Revenant FC taking home the first Mokokchung Friday League (MFL) championship title. In the league standings, Revenant FC led Senso FC by two points. Revenant FC earned 23 points at the completion of game week 10, while Senso SC had 21 points. Revenant FC’s most recent encounter was a goalless draw against REM.
A brief closing ceremony was held where Col. Viplove, CO, 23 Assam Rifles was the special guest. Individual prizes were also given away at the closing ceremony where Tiasunep from Terokroker FC bagged the Best Goalkeeper award while Chubangangnen from Revenant FC bagged the Highest Goal Scorer award with 13 goals. The Player of the League was awarded to Rongsenchiba of Revenant FC.
Six clubs competed in the inaugural season of the Mokokchung Friday League. MFL began on May 6 as a football league for non-professional football players over the age of 35, formed by like-minded individuals with a deep interest in football.
