At Gameweek 2 of the ongoing Mokokchung Friday League, Revenant FC is the only outfit among the six teams in the league that has kept a perfect 100% success rate. All the teams have now played two matches each and Revenant FC is the only team that has won both matches of the season played so far.
The Gameweek 2 matches were played on Saturday at Imkongmeren Sports Complex although they were supposed to be played on Friday. In the first match of the day, Senso FC and Trebuchet FC settled for a 1-1 draw. Both teams came into the match after winning their respective games in the first gameweek. However, neither team could get the better of the other and shared the day’s spoils between them with one point each. Chubangangnen scored for Senso FC in the first half while Chubasunep scored for Trebuchet in the second half. Both teams now have 4 points on the table but Trebuchet is in the second position on better goal aggregate.
In the second match of the day, Revenant FC registered their second straight win of the season in as many games as they defeated Wasang FC by 4 goals to 2. While it was Wasang FC that drew first blood after Jamonger scored just 4 minutes into the game, Revenant came back strongly as Moakaba went on to score a hat trick. Tiayanger of Wasang FC and Rongsenchiba of Revenant FC were the other two players who scored in the match.
In the day’s third match, Terokroker FC conceded 5 goals and now has the distinction of being the team with the most goals conceded in the season so far. They have now conceded 9 goals while scoring only 1, which came today against New Ecclesia. They conceded 4 goals in their previous outing against Trebuchet FC. Arishilu, Imnanukshi and Sentizulu netted a goal each while Moatemsu scored a brace for New Ecclesia. Supongsanen scored a goal for Terokroker, which also happens to be the first and only goal scored by a Terokroker player in the season.
