The Court of the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Mokokchung, has convicted one Rajib Kormarkar for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and sentenced him to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment.
The judgment and order were passed on March 30 by Victo Sema, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Mokokchung, under Section 304 Part-II of the Indian Penal Code.
The case pertains to an incident that occurred on November 7, 2022, at a farmhouse near Chungtia village, where the accused had assaulted his wife using a wooden pole. The victim later succumbed to the injuries sustained in the attack.
The prosecution was represented by Assistant Public Prosecutors M Temjenwathy Imsong and B Langshen. The case was investigated by UBSI Imlitemsu.
