Power supply to the Yisemyong area was restored at 6:30 p.m. on 10 August after remaining disrupted for 22 days due to extensive landslides between Chuchuyimlang and Unger.

According to the Mokokchung Electrical Division, multiple locations along the 33kV line from Changtongya to Chuchuyimlang were damaged by heavy landslides, resulting in the power outage since 19 July.

The department said restoration of the damaged line would have taken approximately two months, as it would have required a fresh survey and preparation of new estimates for approval.

In view of the situation, the department opted to expedite construction of a new 33kV line from Impur to Yisemyong, which was already under construction and had long been a demand of the people in the area. The new line was completed on 10 August, enabling restoration of power supply to the area.

The Mokokchung Electrical Division expressed gratitude to villagers for their cooperation in clearing vegetation along the route from Impur to Chuchuyimlang, which facilitated the work.

The division also thanked the Chief Engineer (D&R), Department of Power, Nagaland, for providing logistical and material support during the restoration efforts.
