The inaugural High School Futsal Tournament organised by 35+ MFL concluded on July 24 at Mojabi Futsal Turf after a three-day competition that began on July 22. A total of 27 teams participated in the tournament.
The closing ceremony was graced by N Chuba Phom, who lauded the organisers for creating a platform to nurture young football talent. Congratulating the participants, he encouraged them to accept both victory and defeat with a sense of collective responsibility.
He also urged young players to uphold honesty and integrity by avoiding age tampering and manipulation. Advising the participants to cultivate good character, he encouraged them to “stay away from ego, self-pride and bad attitude” and instead embrace humility and resilience.
In the final, Revenant FC (A) defeated Eden School 10-1 to lift the championship trophy, while United Boys FC finished third.
Langa of Revenant FC was named Player of the Tournament, while teammate Imliwar claimed the Highest Scorer award with 11 goals. Nungshilong of GMS Tongdentsuyong was adjudged Best Defender. Metsuro of Revenant FC and Lensar of KSA were named the Most Promising Young Players, while Badal of Revenant FC received the Best Goalkeeper award.
The winners, runners-up and individual award recipients received cash prizes, certificates and trophies.
