Mokokchung, 29 November (MTNews): In an unsettling incident, four unidentified masked miscreants reportedly raided the residence of the General Secretary of Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM) on the evening of November 28 at around 8:30 pm in Mokokchung. Condemning the “reprehensible act of illegal intrusion and vandalism,” the apex students’ organization has given three days to the perpetrators to “come forward and admit to their actions,” failure which the AKM said it will be compelled to take matters into its own hands.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, the AKM said that the intruders were masked and claimed to be searching for a “reported liquor store” when they “brazenly raided the house, including its vault safes.”

While questioning the necessity of inspecting household safes for liquor, the AKM also raised concerns about the “intrusive nature of this invasion.”

The AKM also condemned the “disturbing display of an M20 Pistol by one of the perpetrators and the intimidation tactics employed, including warnings to the families about the consequences of reporting the incident.”

“This egregious violation not only targets an individual but also strikes at the heart of our collective commitment to peace, unity, and the well-being of our community,” the AKM said. Stating that the AKM stands united against such acts of aggression, it expressed unwavering support for its General Secretary during this distressing time.

AKM, a proponent of peace and justice, extends a stern warning to the perpetrators behind this heinous act. We provide a grace period of three days for the responsible party to come forward and admit to their actions. Failure to do so will compel the AKM to take matters into our own hands to ensure justice prevails.
