Mokokchung clinched the 11th Nagaland Veterans Inter-District Football Tournament title by defeating Dimapur 3-0 in the final at NAPTC, Chümoukedima, on Thursday, 29 February. The tournament was organized by the Nagaland Veterans Football Association.
Tiaakum scored a brace in the final for Mokokchung and was also adjudged the Player of the Tournament. Mokokchung team captain, Akangmeren, scored the third goal in the final to seal the deal.
In the semifinal, Mokokchung registered a convincing 5-1 win over Niuland.
This marks the sixth time that Mokokchung veterans have won the tournament. They also secured second place on four previous occasions, including the last edition played at Mon in 2022.
