Kohima, December 20 (MTNews): The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MORTH ) has issued the Scheme Guidelines on the “Scheme of Financial Assistance for administering Road Safety Advocacy and awards for the outstanding work done in the field of Road Safety” vide letter No. RT-25035/38/2021-RS (196434) Dated 21st September 2021, which shall remain in operation till March 31 of 2026. The Scheme guideline is available on the Ministry website.

 

Objectives of the Scheme: To stimulate and encourage opportunities for various agencies through participation, in order to create awareness of road safety with a focus on a result-oriented outcome and reduction in road fatalities through behavioral changes. The scheme will work in alignment with the objectives of the National Road Safety Policy.

 

Eligibility: NGO/Trust under Indian Trusts Act/Cooperative Society under Societies Registration Act/Firm registered under the Companies Act, 1956/2013, Academic Institutions accredited/affiliated to or recognized as a University or Deemed University by UGC Act.

 

The Ministry has invited applications from interested and eligible organizations making positive contributions in the field of road safety for “Grant of Awards to the Agencies involved in Road advocacy and allied activities.”

 

The applications will be accepted through the online portal on the Ministry’s website https://morth.nic.in. The portal shall remain open w.e.f. 16th December to 15th January 2022, for inviting applications.

 

Interested and eligible organizations have been encouraged to apply. This was informed through DIPR.
