In a tweet by Benjamin Yepthomi, the President of the BJP Nagaland, it was announced that senior Congress leader and retired IPS officer Richard Yimkhuing, along with his wife Shojila Yimkhuing and thousands of Congress workers and officials from the 58 A/C Shamator Assembly Constituency, have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The tweet highlighted that their induction marks a significant step in strengthening the BJP’s presence in Eastern Nagaland. Yepthomi attributed the party’s growth to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda, and National General Secretary (Organization) BL Santhosh.
He further emphasized that the joining of such experienced leaders and workers reflects the people’s desire for progress, good governance, and development in the state. The BJP warmly welcomed Richard Yimkhuing, Shojila, and all the members of the Congress party into the BJP family.
