In a landmark development for cricket in Nagaland and the Northeast, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has awarded Nagaland the hosting rights for the Senior Women’s Inter Zonal T20 Trophy 2025. This announcement marks a significant milestone for the Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) and cricketing infrastructure in the region.
NCA Honorary Secretary Hyunilo Anilo Khing shared the news on social media, calling it “exciting” and a reflection of the BCCI’s growing trust in Nagaland’s capability to host high-profile tournaments.
The national tournament will be held from November 4 to 14, 2025, with Dimapur designated as the host city for both the league and knockout stages. The event will feature top women cricketers from six BCCI zones — North, South, East, West, Central, and the newly-formed North East Zone — showcasing elite talent from across the country.
Khing said that hosting the tournament in the “Land of Festivals” is expected to shine a national spotlight on Nagaland’s passion for cricket and hospitality, while also inspiring a new generation of women cricketers in the region.
This will be one of the biggest women’s domestic cricket events ever hosted in Northeast India.
