The Nagaland University Judo Team is set to represent the institution at the Northeast Zone Inter-University Judo Championship for men and women 2025–26, which will be hosted by Lovely Professional University in Punjab from January 15 to 18, 2026.
A five-member squad, comprising three men and two women, will compete under the leadership of team coach Somnath Chakraborty, National Referee and Coach at Nagaland University. Dr Harish Kumar Tiwari, Deputy Director of Sports, Nagaland University, will serve as the team manager. The team is scheduled to depart from the university headquarters at Lumami on January 11, 2026.
In preparation for the championship, the athletes are undergoing an intensive six-day coaching camp at the Lumami headquarters. The camp is being supervised by Coach Chakraborty and is aimed at ensuring peak performance during the competition.
Nagaland University has extended its best wishes to the team for a successful participation and reaffirmed its support for the athletes in their pursuit of excellence in the sport of judo.
