The team’s participation is part of the effort to develop a robust sports culture at the University. DDS Dr. Harish Kumar Tiwari, who has been a strong advocate for student involvement in sports, expressed his heartfelt support for the team.

Dr. Tiwari also took the opportunity to appeal to all students at NU to come forward and participate in inter-university and national-level government tournaments. He emphasized the importance of such platforms in showcasing talent and bringing recognition not only to the players but to the university and the state of Nagaland as well.

As per the release from NU PRO Peter Ki, Nagaland University regularly conducts open trials for various sports, encouraging athletes to showcase their skills with the potential for selection to represent the university in upcoming competitions. The open trials are open to any student currently enrolled at NU, aged between 17 and 25. The university aims to harness the sporting potential of its students and bring home medals, boosting both the reputation of the university and the sporting culture in Nagaland.
