The Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) Portal was launched on 18 November 2025 at the Office of the Labour Commissioner in Kohima. The event was attended by Sotsula, Commissioner and Secretary (IAS) of the Labour and Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department, who officially unveiled the digital platform.
In her address, Sotsula termed the portal a “major milestone” in improving digital governance and reducing compliance burdens for businesses in Nagaland. She pointed out that “businesses have long faced multiple layers of paperwork and physical procedures to meet statutory requirements.”
The portal allows complete online processing for all services under the Nagaland Shops and Establishments Act, 1986, and temporarily under the Factories Act, 1948. It covers the submission of applications, document uploads, fee payments, and the issuance of certificates digitally.
Sotsula said the initiative goes beyond administrative reform and marks a step towards “compliance reduction, simplification of procedures, and enhancing transparency.” A three-month pilot will first be conducted in Peren, Phek, Longleng, and Kiphire, followed by a statewide rollout based on feedback.
