Dimapur, September 4 (MTNews): The 2022-23 domestic cricket season will kick start with the Duleep Trophy and the much-awaited squads for the prestigious first-class tournament are out. The Duleep Trophy will be played in Chennai, Pondicherry, Coimbatore and Salem with the final to be played in Coimbatore from 21st to 25th September. Six zonal teams – North, South, East, West, Central and North-East zones will be competing for the prestigious trophy.
North-East Zone comprising six states – Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim is scheduled to play the first ever Duleep Trophy Competition after being affiliated to The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
A 4-day conditioning camp of the North-East zone was hosted by Nagaland Cricket Association from 1st – 4th September 2022 and the team is scheduled to depart tomorrow for Chennai to play its first match against the West Zone from 8th – 11th September 2022.
