The National People’s Party (NPP) has reconstituted its Legislature Party in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and constituted an Interim State Committee for the party’s Nagaland unit.
In two separate orders issued by NPP National President Conrad K Sangma on July 29, A Nyamnyei Konyak, MLA, was appointed as the Leader of the NPP Legislature Party in the Nagaland Assembly with immediate effect.
Konyak replaces Nuklutoshi, who has been relieved of the responsibility with immediate effect. The order directed all concerned authorities, party office bearers and members to extend full cooperation to Konyak in discharging his responsibilities.
In a separate order, Sangma constituted a five-member Interim State Committee for the Nagaland State Unit to ensure the smooth functioning of party affairs pending the appointment of a new State President through the prescribed organisational process.
The committee comprises Chuba Jamir, James Vizo, Audrey Jamir, Eje Wangnyu Konyak and H Khumtimong Sangtam of the NPP Youth Front (NPYF).
According to the order, the Interim State Committee will assist the National Working President and the National Committee and discharge responsibilities assigned by the National Working President or the NPP national headquarters from time to time.
The interim arrangement will remain in force until the selection and appointment of a new State President by the NPP national president. During this period, the committee will perform its duties in consultation with the National Working President and the National President.
Both orders were issued by Conrad K Sangma in his capacity as National President of the NPP.
