The Office of the Central Administrative Officer (CAO), Chakhesang Region, NSCN/GPRN, has issued a public notice warning individuals and groups against engaging in illegal activities such as the sale of liquor, drug peddling, and extortion within the jurisdiction of Phek District.
According to the notice issued by Neisalie Krome, Caretaker CAO of the Chakhesang Region, it has come to the notice of the office that “certain illegal activities, including the illicit sale of liquor, drug peddling, and extortion are being carried out” in the area.
The NSCN (GPRN) stated that the sale or distribution of intoxicating liquor is strictly prohibited, warning that violators would face “severe action.” Similarly, the trafficking, sale, and possession of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances were described as strictly prohibited, with the group warning of strict action against offenders.
The notice further cautioned that any individual or group found extorting money or imposing taxes on businessmen or individuals “using and defaming the NSCN/GPRN” would be prosecuted “to the fullest extent as deemed fit.”
The office also provided a contact number (9856958725) for the public to report such illegal activities.
