Mokokchung, 6 February (MTNews): The National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) expressed profound dismay at the treatment meted out to DK Korungthang Maring on 30 January 2024, allegedly by Para Military Personnel of the 3rd Assam Rifles. The incident occurred at the 3rd Assam Rifles post in Tengnoupal, Manipur.
“What really caught the attention of all who value human rights is the appalling behavior of 3rd Assam Rifles post in Tengnoupal, Manipur, targeting an innocent person and looting Rs 4 lakh in cash and Maruti Gypsy after giving 3rd degree torture to DK Korungthang,” stated the NSCN-IM.
“This is nothing less than committing dacoity,” it continued, demanding that those AR personnel involved in the crime be meted befitting punishment after getting them arrested and tried under IPC applicable to torture and dacoity.
“NSCN condemns such acts of cruelty that are inhuman and degrading,” it added.
