Mokokchung, 10 September (MTNews): The NSCN-IM has suspended Tingngam Konyak, Tatar, Konyak Region. “Consequent upon the recommendation forwarded by the competent authority and as per the decision of the Collective Leadership and as directed, Mr Tingngam Konyak, Tatar, Konyak Region is hereby placed under indefinite suspension for his involvement on 31st July incident in Tizit Town,” the Secretary of Yaruiwo Office stated in a suspension order issued on 7 September.
It may be recalled that Chairman of the Konyak Region of NSCN-Reformation (Akato), identified as Temzei from Wangla village, Tizit, under the Mon district of Nagaland, was allegedly beaten to death by members of the NSCN-IM. Four members of NSCN-Reformation (Akato) were reportedly “apprehended” by NSCN-IM cadres on 30 July 2023 in Tizit for allegedly engaging in illegal tax collection activities.
The NSCN-IM had then on 7 August stated that an “Enquiry CommitteeAMP” has been constituted and that strong action shall be initiated against those involved.
