Public sector oil marketing companies on Tuesday assured that petrol, diesel and LPG supplies across Nagaland remain stable and uninterrupted, amid concerns over fuel availability and reports of panic buying in parts of the state.

In a statement issued through PIB Kohima, Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) said the overall fuel supply position in Nagaland was “stable” and that the entire supply chain was operating normally.

The companies stated that refineries, fuel terminals, storage depots, LPG bottling plants, petrol pumps and LPG distributorships were functioning without disruption, while daily dispatches were continuing on schedule to ensure adequate stock across all districts.

The advisory comes amid public anxiety over possible shortages, a recurring concern in Nagaland where fuel supplies depend heavily on transport from outside the state. Even temporary disruptions along highways and supply routes have historically triggered long queues and panic buying at fuel stations.

While the oil companies did not mention any immediate disruption affecting Nagaland, they referred to “prevailing global uncertainties affecting the oil and gas sector” and said close coordination was being maintained on logistics, stock movement and replenishment.

The companies urged consumers to avoid panic buying or stockpiling and advised the public to rely only on official communications for verified information on fuel availability.
