Chuchuyimlang, April 30 (MTNews): A plantation drive was initiated by Mokokchung Forest Division as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav week, North East Festival on 30th April 2022 at Chuchuyimlang village.
A Short speech was delivered by Moamongba, Ranger, Changtongya Beat, highlighting the purpose and objective of the event. He encouraged the villagers for plantation of trees and appreciated the JFMC for successfully carrying out the plantation works in the community land. Subongyanger, Tatar, Village Council Chuchuyimlang expressed their gratefulness to the department for taking up plantation activities in the village.
The event was attended by the representatives from Chuchuyimlang Village Council, JFMC, Women’s Organization and Students’ Union. At the end of the event, a total of 2500 saplings were distributed and planted by the Joint Forest Management Committee/Village Councils/Women Groups/Student body. The program was chaired by Imemakok and the Vote of Thanks was delivered by JFMC Chairman, S.T Nokdang Longkumer.
This plantation drive will continue in the district covering all the villages/towns during the next 3 months under the theme “Restoring Forest Conservation & Livelihood,” an official update informed.
