Ungma, 7 July (MTNews): A sales day program was organized by the Self Help Groups (SHGs) under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) in the Ongpangkong North block, showcasing a wide array of products and exploring opportunities for enhanced income generation.
The event, held on 7 July, brought together 87 SHGs from four Village Level Organizations (VLOs) namely Lanlia, Jenangtsur, Salo, and Nokshular.
The objective of the sales day program was to provide a platform for the SHGs to exhibit and sell their diverse range of products, ranging from handicrafts, textiles, handmade soaps, organic produce, and more. The program aimed to promote entrepreneurship, empower women, and create sustainable livelihood opportunities for the rural communities.
Toshimongla Kichu, District Mission Manager (NSRLM) and Project Director of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Mokokchung, graced the occasion as the guest of honor. The presence of guests such as Yabangla, Project Officer of DRDA Mokokchung; Kazupokba, Block Development Officer of Ongpangkong North; Alice, Block Development Officer of Tsurangkong DRDA; Moatoshi, Assistant District Project Manager (NSRLM) Mokokchung, and the village council chairman of Ungma village added to the significance of the event.
