Clinic on Wheels’ project updates Kiphire administration
Project Lead for Nature SBI Foundation Nagaland, Longtili C Sangtam, on March 16 submitted a formal letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire district informing the administration about the progress of the “Sanjeevani – Clinic on Wheels” project funded by the SBI Foundation.
The submission was made to update the district administration on the healthcare services being delivered through the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) in various villages and towns of the district.
Under the initiative, free basic healthcare services are being provided to people living in remote and underserved areas. The medical team regularly visits different villages to offer doctor consultations, essential medicines and basic health check ups.
The services include blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, laboratory tests, eye check ups, ECG services and other primary healthcare facilities.
Apart from medical treatment, the team also conducts health awareness programmes focusing on hygiene, sanitation, safe drinking water and prevention of common diseases to encourage healthier living practices among rural communities.
The project supports Sustainable Development Goal 3, which focuses on good health and well being and improving access to healthcare services.
The letter also conveyed appreciation to the district administration for its continued support and cooperation in implementing the project.
