Tuensang MLA Imtichoba Chang on February 4, 2026 inaugurated the Government High School at Tuensang Village, marking the upgradation of the institution from a middle school to a high school after 57 years of its establishment.
In his inaugural address, Chang expressed appreciation to Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio, the Advisor for School Education, the Commissioner and Secretary of School Education, the Tuensang district administration, the District Education Officer of Tuensang, the School Management Committee, and the Tuensang Village Council for their support and role in the upgradation of the school. He said the decision reflected the government’s response to the long-standing demands and prayers of the people for improved educational facilities in the area.
Chang urged the Tuensang Village Council to take ownership of the school and act as guardians for students and teachers coming from other villages. He also called upon teachers to serve as a beacon of hope for students by guiding and mentoring them to excel academically and compete with other government schools in the district.
