Ura Academy to organise 55th annual Tenyidie seminar

The Ura Academy (UA) is set to host its 55th Annual Tenyidie Seminar from May 28 to 30 at the Ura Academy Hall, Mission Compound, Kohima, under the theme “Dieu U Siepetiekeshü (Reminiscent Language).”

According to a press release, a “Seminar on Mother Tongue/Local Dialects of Tenyimia Communities” will begin on May 28 at 1 PM. Vimedo Keyho, Secretary of the Tenyidie Education Division, will preside over the session, with the keynote address to be delivered by Dr. Zavise Rume, Chairman of the division. Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, President of Ura Academy, will exhort the gathering, and N. Haisoi Ndang, Chairman of the Zeme Literature Committee, will also address the audience. The session will conclude with a discussion involving Tenyimia tribes and sub-tribes literature boards.

The inaugural session will be held later at 4 PM, presided over by Daso Paphino, Vice President of Ura Academy. The Tenyimi People’s Organization (TPO) will attend as Guest of Honour, with Rev. Khrotso Mero, a member of the Ura Academy Chatha (Board of Directors), also exhorting the event.

On May 29, the Tenyidie Kephrünuoko Krotho (TKK) conclave will take place, featuring Dr. Keduolhoulie Belho, Associate Professor at Kohima College, as the speaker. Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu will deliver an exhortation, and Dr. Metuo Liezietsu will confer the Ura Academy Awards. The session will be led by Dzüzienuo Yhome, President of TKK. In the afternoon, competitions in Drama, Solo, Story Writing, Essay Writing, and Poetry Writing will be held for students.

On May 30, the Ura Academy Rüpfhünuo seminar will be addressed by Asano Sekhose and Dr. Hovithal Sothu, with Mhasivilie Zhale presiding. A panel discussion on the usage of the Tenyidie language in education will follow, featuring academics and teachers from various institutions. The session will be moderated by Dr. Rü-ünguso Kuotsu and summed up by Kikruneinuo Liezietsu.

The seminar will conclude with a valedictory function featuring the Chakhesang and Angami Public Organizations as Guests of Honour. Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu will deliver the concluding address. Ura Academy has invited all Tenyidie well-wishers to attend and participate.
