Village Health Nutrition Day (VNHD) was observed at Government Primary School, Ungma Old with Dr. Moamongla as the Medical Officer on 14 October, Ungma village, Mokokchung. Two ANMs, Anganwadi workers, and a Malaria monitoring team were also on hand to assist with the medical camp. The Medical Department provided the health component of the outreach program, while the Social Welfare Department handled the nutrition component. Dr. Moamongla delivered a health education and awareness session at the medical camp. Immunization for children, free doctor consultations, and free medical checkups with free medicines were provided to the students.
Other activities such as pregnant woman checkups, community screening of elderly for htn and dmt2, malaria monitoring by obtaining blood slides, and distribution of Oral Contraceptive Pill and condoms to eligible couples took place during many of the VHND observations.
